Textile design

Sewing and textile design as a whole have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From hand-sewing with my mum when I was little to trying sewing on a sewing machine for the first time with my dad.

I just instantly knew that this was the thing for me.

So much so that when I was 14 years old, my older sister and I decided to set up a brand called LAVOR. I was sewing upcycled handbags and drawstring backpacks from old bedsheets and she was making handmade accessories.

Our brand no longer exists today but I never stopped sewing.

Upcycled top

Made from a beautiful

hand-embroidered tablecloth. Can be worn by itself as a top or as a vest with a different garment underneath.

Top with an embroidery insert

I chose to use a piece from a very old hand-embroidered wall hanging from my grandma for this top. The wording reads "Just living" in Hungarian.

Upcycled corset-like top

Made from an old striped shirt. Originally I made this one just as a mock-up for a different final design, but it turned out so well I now wear both.

Warmtoned pinafore

Fitted around the waist, with a wide skater skirt, can be worn with many different garments underneath.

Open back wedding dress

Very minimal design with a simple pearl detail on the straps. Made with a detachable lacey train.

Fleece-lined vest with 3D printed apliques

Made from quilted fabric and thick fleece. Finished with 3D printed details - printed on pre-stretched fabric, resulting in unpredictable deformation of the chosen shapes.

Upcycled tote bags

Made from secondhand bedsheets and vintage tea towels. Very sturdy and durable, boxed corners for a roomy

flat bottom. Watch how I made them

on TV here.

Upcycled reversible vest

Made from a woolen sweater that was coming apart at the seams and plain green woolen fabric. Can be worn either way - pattern or green side out.

Upcycled shirt dress

Made from a satin shirt originally purchased as a costume for an advert. I think that this was one of my first upcycling projects.

Five different bridesmaids' dresses

Sets on skirts and tops, each designed to fit different figures and proportions of the bridesmaids.

Upcycled reversible top

Made from a flower pattern tablecloth and plain black fabric. Can be worn either way - pattern or black side out. Also features a large circle back

cut-out.

Upcycled scrunchies

Made from vintage ties, either silk or synthetic but always in an interesting pattern and color. These are available for purchase here and you can see how

I made them on TV here.

Flowy summer skirt

One of the quickest makes ever, very flowy and eye-catching thanks to the chosen fabric.

Oversized white shirt

Simple white buttondown with all the desired details, made from sturdy cotton. Eyecatching blue buttons for a pop of color.
